FREEWRITING- this is a real fun way of approaching the process of inventing a topic for one’s paper. All one needs to do is set up a watch or timer for around ten or fifteen minutes and then start to write down whatever comes to one’s mind regarding the subject. The important thing is not to stop and go on putting out whatever there is in your mind regarding the topic. This flow or “stream of consciousness” will definitely give rise to adequate ideas regarding the choice of a topic. MAPPING- similar to brainstorming in most aspects but is more oriented to the paper. One writes down a central word or a concept from which various other concepts come to the mind; one of these branches will flourish into the final topic.

CUBING- a very interesting process in which the topic is considered as a three-dimensional figure and examined from six different or avenues.
